Abstract

Television news remains one of the most influential forms of mass communication due to its ability to combine audio and visual elements in delivering information to the public. The increasing demand for fast, accurate, and credible information in the digital era requires journalists to master various stages of television news production. This study aims to examine the concept of television news and analyze the techniques of news gathering, news writing, and news presentation as interconnected processes in television journalism. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a library research method. Data were collected from books, scientific journals, and other academic sources related to television broadcasting and journalism. The findings indicate that the quality of television news is strongly influenced by the effectiveness of news gathering, the clarity of scriptwriting, and the professionalism of news presentation. News gathering serves as the foundation for obtaining accurate facts, news writing transforms information into understandable messages, and news presentation ensures that information is effectively communicated to audiences. These three processes are interdependent and collectively determine the credibility and quality of television news programs. The study implies that journalists and broadcasting practitioners need to develop balanced competencies in gathering, writing, and presenting news to produce informative, accurate, and trustworthy television content.
