Dampak Konsumsi Konten TikTok terhadap Kesejahteraan Emosional Remaja

Examining the effects of TikTok content consumption on teenagers' mental health from the standpoint of communication psychology is the goal of this study. Social media now serves as an emotional arena that influences users' emotions, moods, and psychological reactions in addition to being a communication tool in the digital age. TikTok, a site that mostly consists of short videos, exposes teenagers to strong emotional content on a regular basis. By examining academic publications, psychology studies, and communication research pertinent to social media usage and teenage emotional development, this study employed a literature review methodology. The findings indicate that intensive TikTok consumption significantly influences adolescents’ emotional well-being, manifesting in mood fluctuations, emotional instability, anxiety, and emotional dependency on digital stimuli. However, with adequate emotional regulation skills, media literacy, and self-control, TikTok can also function as a medium for emotional expression and stress relief. This study highlights the importance of balanced social media consumption to maintain adolescents’ emotional well-being in the digital era.
