Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Generative AI adoption on organizational performance, with Digital Agility as a mediating variable and transformational leadership as a moderating variable. The study seeks to understand the mechanisms through which AI implementation enhances organizational outcomes and how leadership style influences this relationship. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey method with 117 respondents from selected organizations. Data were analyzed using regression analysis and mediation-moderation testing. The results indicate that Generative AI adoption positively and significantly affects organizational performance (β = 0.432, t = 5.914, p ≤ 0.05). Moreover, Digital Agility was found to partially mediate the relationship between Generative AI adoption and organizational performance (β = 0.271 after including the mediator), suggesting that digitally agile organizations are better able to translate AI adoption into tangible performance improvements. In addition, transformational leadership acts as a moderator, strengthening the effect of AI adoption on organizational performance (β = 0.198, t = 2.846, p ≤ 0.05). This indicates that organizations led by visionary and inspiring leaders can maximize the benefits of AI through enhanced digital capabilities and the implementation of innovative strategies. These findings contribute theoretically by integrating technology adoption, digital capabilities, and transformational leadership into a comprehensive model of organizational performance. Practically, organizations are encouraged to implement Generative AI strategically, enhance Digital Agility through training and adaptive systems, and develop transformational leadership to optimize organizational outcomes. The results also provide a foundation for future research and practical applications in the era of digital transformation.
