New Student Admission (NSA) is a strategic process in the academic cycle of higher education institutions that requires fast, accurate, and easily accessible information services. However, the information service for NSA at the Institut Sosial and Teknologi Widuri Jakarta is still dominated by manual methods and one-way media, resulting in delayed responses, a high workload for admission officers, and limited interaction with prospective students. These conditions may reduce service quality and user satisfaction in the digital era, which demands efficiency and responsiveness. This study aims to design an NSA information service system based on a chatbot by utilizing Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology to support interactive two-way communication. The chatbot is designed to understand user queries in natural language, provide relevant and contextual responses, and operate without time constraints. The research methodology includes system requirements analysis, literature review, and system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to model system workflows and functionalities in a structured manner. The expected outcome of this study is a chatbot system design capable of automatically and consistently responding to prospective students’ inquiries, thereby reducing the workload of admission officers and improving the quality of information services. The implementation of an NLP-based chatbot is expected to serve as an innovative solution to support the digital transformation of academic services, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen the competitiveness of the Institut Sosial and Teknologi Widuri Jakarta in higher education.
