Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out how the Political Theory and Democracy Course is implemented in the Election of Chair and Deputy HMJPPKN FIS UNIMED as well as student problems in Democracy. The method used in writing this article is the qualitative method, observation and interviews in obtaining data. There are several factors that become problematic for students in democracy, namely busyness that cannot be left behind during general elections, because it is clear that the data is there. The vote is around 30%. As for the 30% who are 2017-2021 standard students and the factor is a lack of understanding about politics and democracy, this is where the role of theory and politics courses plays. However, this does not become the basis for the failure of the implementation of political theory and democracy courses because of the results of research data at the time of implementation. In the election, 70% of students were enthusiastic and participated in the election. As for the results of the researchers' research, the majority of students who fall into the 70% are in the 2022-2023 semester. Conclusion: Implementation of political theory and democracy courses in the Fis Civics Civics Department, Unimed. This is a manifestation of the fact that students are not only fixated on lecture theorems but are also carried out simultaneously with the practice of implementing these theories through holding elections for chairman and deputy chairman of HMJPPKN.
