Abstract

The study aimed to find out the use of demonstration methods on thermal energy materials and to find out if students' IPA learning outcomes could improve with the use of demonstration methods. The subjects in this study were students of grade IV SDN 030341 Silalahi with a total of 37 students consisting of 20 male students and 17 female students.  The type of research conducted is classroom action research and is carried out over two cycles. There are four stages in this cycle: planning, action, observation and reflection/ evaluation. In this study data gathering techniques used tests and observations. While the data analysis used is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of the study obtained an average score in cycle I from 37 students of 72.58. Students who obtained completed grades as many as 25 students with a percentage (67.56%) and as many as 12 students were not completed with a percentage (32.43%). In cycle II the average score of 37 people was 78.24. Students completed as many as 32 students with a percentage (87%) and as many as 5 students were not completed with a percentage (15%). The use of demonstration methods can improve and improve the learning outcomes of grade IV elementary school students 030341 Silalahi.
