Analisis Penggunaan Protokol SRT dalam Pengiriman Audio dan Video di TVRI Kalimantan Timur

Live streaming has become an increasingly important technology in digital broadcasting, particularly for real-time transmission that requires high quality and low latency. The selection of video and audio transmission protocols plays a crucial role in determining the performance and stability of a broadcast system. Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) is still widely used; however, it has limitations when operating under unstable network conditions. As an alternative, Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) was developed to improve the reliability of multimedia data transmission through error correction mechanisms and adaptive latency management. This study aims to implement live streaming using the vMix software with the SRT protocol and to analyze its performance by comparing it with the RTMP protocol. The research method employed is an experimental approach, in which both protocols are tested and evaluated based on latency, video and audio quality, connection stability, and resilience to packet loss. The experiments are conducted under varying network conditions to simulate real-time broadcasting scenarios. The results indicate that the SRT protocol outperforms RTMP in terms of lower latency, higher streaming stability, and better data recovery under unstable network conditions. The implementation of SRT in a vMix-based live streaming system can be considered an effective solution for delivering high-quality real-time broadcasts.
