Analisis Pemanfaatan Media Sosial dalam Penanganan Korban Cyberbullying oleh Konselor

This study aims to analyze the utilization of social media in handling Cyberbullying victims by counselors. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using the Critical Incident Technique through in-depth interviews with counselors and psychologists from four service institutions: Invira Humania, Motiva Consulting, Satgas PPKS UNAIR, and the Psychological Service Center of Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. The collected data were analyzed using deductive content analysis to identify major categories of social media utilization in counseling practices. The results showed 46 coded findings grouped into six categories, namely social media as an approach tool, social media in the counseling process, monitoring features, emotional recovery features, the influence of social media, and reports originating from social media. The most dominant categories were the influence of social media (30.43%) and social media in the counseling process (28.26%), indicating that social media plays an important role in building access, trust, and initial communication with victims. Instagram was identified as the most impactful platform due to its interactive and supportive features. Therefore, social media can be considered an effective medium for supporting counseling services for Cyberbullying victims.
