Pengembangan Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Android dengan Notifikasi Real-Time Menggunakan Metode RAD untuk Meningkatkan Transparansi Akademik di SMK Islam Tenjonagara

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to implement academic information systems capable of providing fast, accurate, and integrated services. However, based on observations conducted at SMK Islam Tenjonagara, academic information management and dissemination processes were still carried out semi-manually, resulting in delays in delivering information to students and parents. This study aims to develop an Android-based Academic Information System with real-time notifications to improve academic transparency and enhance communication between the school and parents. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, which consists of four stages: Requirements Planning, User Design, Construction, and Cutover. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The developed system provides features for managing student data, teacher data, classes, schedules, attendance, grades, assignments, and real-time notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method on 25 test scenarios. The results showed that all system features functioned according to user requirements with a 100% success rate. The implementation of real-time notifications enables academic information to be delivered instantly to students and parents without requiring them to repeatedly check the application. Therefore, the developed system successfully improves academic transparency, accelerates information dissemination, and supports parental involvement in monitoring students' academic progress at SMK Islam Tenjonagara.
